General Motors India has launched the automatic version of its popular SUV Chevrolet Captiva in the Indian car market. The Chevrolet Automatic will be available at a price tag of Rs 20,30,000 (ex showroom-Delhi).
The manual version of the Captiva with a perfect blend of aesthetic appeal and outstanding performance has been a leader since its inception. Now, the automatic transmission added to the handsome looks, peppy engine, and versatile seating options of the car will add value to the already competent car.
The automatic transmission in the new Chevrolet is a 5-Speed unit mated to the 2-litre Turbocharged Common Tail Diesel engine. It is also associated with an adaptive AWD (All Wheel Drive) that uses an electrically controlled torque sensing which enables automatic redirection of the engine torque to individual axles in accordance to the driving conditions, thereby improving drivability and handling. The automatic variant is also available with hill descent control to regulate downhill speed.
Now car buyers will have two options for the Chevrolet Captiva, the existing Manual Captiva and the Automatic Captiva. The new Captiva is likely to compete with the Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour and the Mitsubishi Outlander.
