Audi, a Germany based luxury car manufacturer, aims to sell 1,500 units this year in the Indian car market. With the expected sales figure the car manufacturer desires to increase its sales volume in the country by around 33%.
In support of the expected sales figure, the Managing Director Benoit Tiers, said, “We have already seen a 95 percent growth rate in the first two months of this year. This is on the lines of our target... We are looking at selling 1,500 units in India this year.”
According to official sources the company has sold 113 cars in February against 58 cars sold in the corresponding month last year. This accounts for a 95% increase in car sales despite of the recessionary pressures still going on.
Benoit also added, “We are now expanding our dealership network to 15 from 12 this year. The dealership in Cochin will come up in April followed by Kolkata and Chennai, which shows our commitment to the market here.” According to him Indian car market is aggressively growing and maturing for high-end luxury cars. With such a promising market the Audi is confident to achieve the expected sales target by the year end.
