Hyundai Motor India experienced an impressive growth of over 45 per cent in domestic sales in the month of February against same month in 2008. Cumulative sales were increased by about 32 per cent and the export sales grew by 18 per cent.
Mr. Arvind Saxena, Marketing and Sales Senior Vice President, Hyundai India said, "While January 2009 sales growth for both the industry as well as Hyundai Motor had been negative, February 2009 sales saw a slight upturn with double digit growth for the industry."
The overall sales of Hyundai for the month of February were 38,254 units compared to 29,001 units in the same month of last fiscal. The domestic market recorded 21,215 units compared to 14,600 units last year, whilst the exports summed to 17,039 units in contrast to 14,401 units in February 2008. The A2 segment contributed to major portion of the sales number of over 34,000 units which comprises car models the Santro, i10, Getz, and the i20.
