HM-Mitsubishi Motors Launches 2009 Montero in India

Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi Motors have launched the premium SUV called Montero 2009 in Mumbai today. The launch ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. R. Santhanam, Managing Director, Hindustan Motors Ltd. Mr. Y.V.S Vijay Kumar, Executive Vice-President and SBU Head - Chennai Car Plant, Hindustan Motors Ltd. and other company were also present.

Brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the 2009 Montero is also powered by a 3.2 litre, Turbo charged intercooled diesel engine that generates 162 bhp. It comes with a choice of automatic transmission as well as manual transmission. In contrast to the old Montero, the 2009 Montero offers new chrome-plated front grille making the car more attractive. The car also gets a new seven-spoke 17-inch light alloy wheels adding sportier look to the SUV and Yokahama tubeless radials for the easy mobility on rough terrains.

According to R. Santhanam, Managing Director (Hindustan Motors Ltd), “Mumbai has been one of our fastest-growing markets over the past few years. Bringing Mitsubishi Motors to Worli is a logical response to that development. In order to build a sustainable, successful business, you have to be present in a market. It is important that we remain committed to our ambitious expansion plans.”

The new Montero is available six exciting colours - Black Mica, Deep Blue Mica, Sophia White Platinum Beige Metallic, Cool Silver Metallic, and Red Metallic.

It is expensive than the old model. As per the HM-Mitsubishi’s philosophy of “One Country-One Price”, the 2009 Montero is priced at Rs 41.94 Lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai) for both AT (Automatic Transmission) and MT (Manual Transmission) versions.
