Germany’s one of the popular tourist destinations Autostadt celebrates its ninth birthday this year. Situated near the Volkswagen factory established in Wolfsburg, Germany, this state-of-art automotive theme park established by Volkswagen has greeted 18 million guests on its ninth birthday.
Autostadt expected an initial visitor target of 18 million by 2018 but surprisingly it reached its expected visitor nine years before the target time. Commenting on the situation, Otto Ferdinand Wachs, CEO of Autostadt, said, “The Autostadt will enter its 10th year with this most impressive figure!” He also anticipates that the 19 million figure will also be reached in this year.
Furthermore, he added, “Volkswagen has acquired numerous new customers, amongst others, through the German Government’s Environmental Incentive. Most of them are drawn both by the excitement of visiting the VW Group’s theme park and collecting their new car personally from the Autostadt’s KundenCenter (Customer Centre). At present we are handling around 4,200 new vehicles per week. With this figure, we have almost reached our logistical limit.”
