Precision Cars India, the official Porsche importer for India, revealed the prices of Porsche Panamera with a starting price tag of Rs 1,41,74,000.
Announcing the prices of the new car, Managing Director of Precision Cars India, Mr Rod Wallace, said, “Our dealers have already enjoyed considerable interest in the car and have received forward orders prior to the launch. This in itself is proof that the new Panamera meets the expectations of the discerning Indian luxury car buyer on all key considerations - luxury, sportiness and performance.” He also said that the company is hopeful to launch the car in India by later September or early October 2009.
The Panamera will be introduced in three variants, Panamera S, Panamera 4S, and Panamera Turbo priced at Rs 1,41,74,000, Rs 1,47,11,000, and Rs 2,01,84,000 (New-Delhi Ex-Showroom price) respectively. The entry-level Panamera S is driven by a 4.8-litre V8 generating a maximum output of 400 bhp and mated to Porsche’s seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) or double-clutch gearbox. The dynamic Panamera 4S features a 4.8-litre V8 generating 400 bhp and mated to Porsche’s seven-speed PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. The top-end variant of the car features a 4.8-litre V8 biturbo generating maximum output of 500 bhp with power transmitted again by Porsche’s seven-gear Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK).
All the three variants of the Porsche Panamera come with Direct Fuel Injection, low-friction drive systems, and lightweight bodyshells. And at the same time the PDK transmission is mated to Porsche’s new Auto Start Stop function that automatically switches off the engine when the car comes to a standstill.
