The German car manufacturer is planning to introduce stop-start system in cars. This technology will be seen in the models like Audi A3 1.4 TFSI, A4 and A5 in 2-litre form by end of this year.

With this technology, a car automatically shuts down if it is in halt for more than required time especially at traffic signals. This technology will further improve the fuel efficiency and help reduce Euro cycle fuel consumption by 0.2 liters per 100 kilometers. The technology also gives an option to the driver to start the engine again with the help of a button.

The luxury car manufacturer has also introduced an on-board computer system. This system will assist in tracking driver’s habits and recommend new tactics to reduce fuel consumption. By 2012, the company plans to improve overall vehicle efficiency to 20 percent for all its models.
