Porsche Targets to Sell 50 Units of Panamera

German car maker Porsche, has plans to sell 50 units of its to-be-launched premium luxury sedan Panamera in India in three months after its launch.

The Porsche Panamera carries a heavy price tag of Rs 1.4 crore to Rs 2 crore. The car is expected to launch on the third of October but it has already received bookings for thirteen cars.

Porsche entered India three years ago and since then it has sold out around 650 cars. Sixty five per cent of the sales came from the company’s famous SUV Cayenne. In which 60 per cent of sales is from Mumbai which is followed by Delhi with 30 per cent and 10 per cent from the rest of the country.

"In 2007, we sold around 168 units while in 2008 it was 150, however with the Panamera, we are hoping to reach 225 over the next 12 month period", he said.

There are two dealers each in New Delhi and Mumbai for the company in the country. It is planning to open three more dealerships each in Chennai, Cochin, and Hyderabad.
