According to Shashank Srivastava (Chief General Manager- Maruti Suzuki), "Alto has emerged as the most preferred car in India for its drivability, superior mileage, low ownership cost and overall reliability. We are confident that the Alto with a CNG option makes this car even more attractive for customers."
Maruti Suzuki is also planning to introduce the CNG kits to all its models by 2010. The company had earlier introduced CNG version on some of its models, but withdrew it due to some genuine reasons.
