The world's fastest car, Ultimate Aero, will be now available in the Indian car market. The Ultimate Aero is able to reach half the speed of a jetliner cruising at 30,000 ft. It will not only be the fastest car in the country but will also be the costliest car in India.
Shelby Super Car (SSC) is the manufacturer of this wonder car and it is a US-based company. The company has now expected to launch the car in Mumbai and then in New Delhi.
After the United States and Russia, India will be the third market where this fastest car, with a recorded speed of 413 kilometres per hour (257 mph), will be sold. This launch is a reflection of how the Indian car market is the favourite choice of luxury carmakers.
The Aero is produced only in the US and it is costs about $654,400 (more than Rs 3 crore). But in India is cost is double because of the high import duty of about 100 per cent and the Indian customers will have to spend up to double the amount to own an Aero. The Mercedes-Benz Maybach is the costliest car now sold in India, costing around Rs 5 crore, but now Aero should be topping the list with its over 6 crore price tag when it is available in India.
"Sales of super luxury cars are on the rise in emerging economies such as China and India. These are seen as stable markets for such cars," said an industry analyst.
