Reva is planning to come up with two new electric car models. The two new cars from the Indian carmaker Maini Reva, a four-seater, two-door hatchback and a sporty two-seater, is expected to launch in the country as well as abroad within the next two years.
The new cars, NXR and NXG, will be showcased to European consumers at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in Germany. And the prices of the models will also be revealed at this time.
“The two cars target two different consumer sets. The NXR is perfect second car; it is automatic, easy to drive, park and safe. It will have optional solar panels on the top. The NXG, on the other hand, is a complete lifestyle fun car,” said Mr. Chetan Maini.
The production of NXR, a four-seater, two-door hatchback, will begin by the first quarter of 2010 and it will be introduced to 24 countries across Asia and Europe. The NXR can run a distance of 160 kilometres in one charge. Equipped with lithium-ion battery, is faster than the Reva with a top speed of 104 km per hour.
The NXG, a sporty two-seater, will start production in 2011. With a top speed of 130km per hour, the car can cover up to 200km with a single charge.
“We would like to achieve a sales target of 30,000 vehicles in three years. With electric vehicles, we are ahead of most of the current big names, as we have 15 years of experience and they are now entering into this space,” said Mr. Chetan Maini.
The new cars from Reva will surely increase the sales for the electric car company.
