Volkswagen Group, European auto giant, on Thursday said it has recorded a jump of 38.18 per cent in cumulative sales in India during October at 2,023 units.
The group, which has three brands namely Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda, had marked sale of 1,464 units during the same month of 2008, it said in a statement.
“We are making good progress in developing our market performance. Our current delivery figures are in line of our plan. That proves we are present in the right market with the right products at the right time,” Volkswagen Group Chief Representative and Volkswagen India President and MD Joerg Mueller said.
The group's Czech luxury car brand Skoda reported a growth of 46.34 per cent in its October sales at 1,680 units, as against 1,148 units during the same month of 2008.
Volkswagen passenger cars witnessed sale of 227 units, against 208 units during October last year, a growth of 9.13 per cent.
German luxury brand Audi sold 116 units in India during October, a rise of 8.14 per cent over the figure of 107 units in the corresponding month of 2008.
