New Car Launches at 2010 Auto Expo

The ongoing Auto Expo witnessed a number of car launches in the last couple of days.


The most significant of these is the launch of the Prius hybrid car by Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The Prius will be available in limited numbers in two variants, priced at Rs.26.55 Lakh and Rs.27.86 Lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi, and bookings has already started. Besides, the car behemoth has also launched the Corolla Altis CNG.


Hyundai Motor India unveiled the electric version of its flagship model the i10. Joining the band wagon is General Motors which unveiled the Chevrolet Spark Electric that will soon hit the Indian roads.


Maruti Suzuki introduced the new MPV Eeco at an introductory price starting from Rs.2.59 Lakh. Tata Motors came up with the Magic Iris which is a pint-sized four-wheel passenger car for those who want to upgrade from their three-wheelers.


Volkswagen introduced the handcrafted luxury sedan Phaeton at Rs.75 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, New Delhi) and will commence sales from March this year. Volkswagen's brands Audi showed off its Sportback Concept car and Skoda presented the Yeti Crossover.


Fiat India unveiled the diesel version of the Fiat 500, three variants of the Grande Punto and two of the Linea model.


The cars which BMW India unveiled were the sports car Gran Turismo, sports coupe X6 M and the super luxury sedan 760Li.
