The world-famous luxury car maker Mercedes has announced the entry of its A-Class in India. It would be an entry level car from Mercedes. The cost would be competitive, but may come around Rs 16-20 lakh.
The entry of the A-Class car has been discussed for over 10 years now but the launch has been delayed for one reason or the other. Mercedes is understood to have taken note of the price for this so called entry level luxury car. The company is optimistic and believes that the Indian car market is a growing one and there will be a definite ground for its car.
Of late, the company has been receiving good returns with the sale of its car in the country. In December, Mercedes saw a growth of 80 per cent. This does not include its growth of 157 per cent net growth through GL. The GL is a cross over SUV and is of the same kind as Audi Q7 and BMW X5.
The bus market for Mercedes is promising. But, the European market is still under recovery phase in terms of passenger cars and commercial vehicles from the previous fall of 90 per cent. The company compensated the dealers by buying back the volume on liquidity and with monetary support. The situation in the circle of Daimler too is similar due to the construction problems.
