Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the second largest car maker in India on Wednesday re-launched its i20 model with two new variants Era and Sportz.
The new variants go for sale right away. The ex-showroom, Delhi prices for the Era variant start at Rs 451,816 while the Sportz, positioned between the Magna and the Asta, will be priced at Rs 531,817.
These variants come with new technologies that enhance the styling and fuel economy. The Era has been introduced with both petrol and diesel engines.
HMIL is confident that with the new features and additional variants, the i20 will become even more attractive setting a new benchmark with improved styling, unique features and compliance with global safety standards.
The all-new i20 comes overloaded with many features. It has six-speed manual transmission gears in the diesel variant and the sixth gear will facilitate fuel-efficient driving. It will also enable low rpm operation of the engine and will result in the i20 leading to a lower noise, vibration & harshness and lesser abrasion of the engine.
The styling is fresh and reflective of current global trends. It features an all-new Chrome Radiator Grille and outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators. On the inside, it features blue LED interior illumination, silver centre fascia, and chrome finish on the inside door locks. The new i20 is equipped with a Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC) system and in-built USB port. Burglar alarm, steering wheel with audio remote and passenger vanity mirror have also been added in the Sportz.
Both variants make their debuts with the latest BS IV compliance. The new i20 petrol version (1.2 Kappa) is capable of delivering 18.15 km/litre and the diesel variant (1.4 CRDi) can deliver a mileage of 21.93 km/litre.
