Tata Motors has recorded a sales growth of 41 per cent in the month of May 2010. The Indian car manufacturer sold a total of 56,779 vehicles compared to the 40,196 vehicles sold in the same month last year.
The company sold a total of 52,801 units in the domestic market, a growth of 38 per cent when compared to the 38,392 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
Total sales of passenger vehicles stood at 23,489 units (21,326 Tata + 2,163 Fiat) in the domestic market for the month of May 2010, an increase of 42 per cent in contrast with the 16,563 units (15,388 Tata + 1,175 Fiat) sold in May 2009. Tata recorded total passenger vehicle sales of 21,326 units, an increase of 39 per cent over May 2009. Total number of Nano stood at 3,550 units, the Indica range managed to sell 8,468 units and the Sumo/Safari range accounted for sales of 2,708 nos., higher by 6 per cent over May last year.
Tata Motors owned JLR continued its upward growth in the month of May too.
