Indian automobile major Mahindra and Mahindra has said that it has filed an appeal against the lawsuit by the Atlanta based distributor Global Vehicles for delaying its pick-up trucks in the American market.
A spokesperson from the company has confirmed the development and said that the company has filed an appeal against the lawsuit by Global Vehicles.
Earlier this month, Global Vehicles, which is Mahindra’s exclusive distributor for its pick-up trucks in the American market, had filed a lawsuit against Mahindra accusing the company of causing unnecessary delays in the launch. M&M had missed two deadlines since 2009 to launch its pick-up truck.
The Atlanta based distributor Global Vehicles (GV) had mentioned in the lawsuit that there has been inordinate delay in the launch of the truck, based on Mahindra Sports Utility Vehicle Scorpio platform.
The two companies had entered into an agreement in September 2006 and the Indian car manufacturer had promised to launch the pick-up in 2009. This, however, got delayed due to regulatory clearance issues and it revised the entry deadline to beginning of this fiscal year, which too was missed.
