To celebrate the first year anniversary of the Maruti Suzuki Ritz, the company has launched a limited edition of the small car. Maruti Suzuki Ritz, which was launched in May 2009, has sold over 86,400 units so far. The car is available in 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel options.
“Ritz has received very good demand from customers. I am confident that the new edition, Ritz Genus, will find great appreciation with customers,” Maruti Suzuki India Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said.
The company will introduce about 5,000 units of the limited edition, which is based on the current Vxi and Vdi versions, over the next three months in both petrol and diesel options.
When Mr. Srivastava was asked about the price of the new variant, he said: “It will be about Rs 17,000 more expensive than the existing models.”
MSI sells the Vxi and Vdi variants of the Ritz for Rs 4.52 lakh and Rs 5.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Ritz Genus will offer a number of new features such as keyless entry, tilt steering, integrated music system and Dual tone dashboard.
MSI has earlier introduced new options, including five CNG variants of its different models such as Alto and SX4, in order to regain its position in the Indian car market after its share dropped below 50 per cent this year.
