Ford India has reported a 237 per cent jump in sales in the first half of the current fiscal (April-September period) with total sales of 47,902 vehicles, as compared to the 14,209 units of new cars sold in the corresponding period last year.

In addition, Ford enjoyed another good sales in September-month with 8,380 unit sales recorded, and this was up 146 per cent, compared to the 3,405 vehicles reported last year in 2009, Ford India Vice President (Sales) N Raja told.

The surge was driven by sustained demand for the record-selling Figo since its launch in March, he said, adding the Ford is expected to cross the 50,000 production milestone coinciding with the start of the festive season.
