Mercedes-Benz Launches R-Class in India

German luxury car maker, Mercedes Benz has launched the new 7-Seater R-Class luxury crossover in Indian market. The variant launched is the R350 4MATIC Long Wheelbase and has been priced at Rs 58.79 Lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai.


The new car comes powered by a 3.5 litre DOHC 24 valve V6 petrol engine that delivers 272 bhp of maximum power at 6000 rpm and 350 Nm of maximum torque at 2400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7G-tronic 7-speed automatic transmission which can be controlled via a DIRECT SELECT lever on the steering wheel.


The 4MATIC permanent four wheel drive system provides traction as well as enhanced directional and driving stability at all times in combination with ESP (Electronic Stability Program), AIRMATIC air suspension and electronic traction system 4ETS which also integrates ABS and ASR. Further safety is provided by the Direct-Steer system which offers greater control over the steering ratio and reduces the need t0 steer in wide steering angles such as when parking or on tight bends.


Like every Mercedes, the R-Class comes with a long list of standard equipments which include instrument cluster in 3D look with white scale background, rear seat entertainment system with media interface socket in the glove compartment, daytime running lights with chrome ringed fog lamps, LED tail lights, EASY-PACK automatic tailgate, NECK-PRO luxury head restraints, Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, full length sliding sunroof, EAST-ENTRY function and KidFix child seat with automatic recognition and ISOFIX mount and Bi-Xenon headlamps.


The R-Class rides on 10-spoke light 18-inch alloy wheels with a turning radius of 12.6 meters.
