BMW India has launched the new BMW 5-series priced at Rs 36.9 lakh (ex-showroom all India). The new BMW 520d is equipped with a two-litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powerful engine churns out 184bhp @ 4,000rpm, and reaches 0-100 km per hour in 8.1 seconds.
Interested customers can order the new variant as completely knocked down unit from its Chennai plant. The new BMW 520d is available in all its dealerships across the country, the company said in a statement.
“The 5-series is the core model in our product portfolio. The new BMW 5 Series sedan, since its launch in April 2010, has successfully emerged as a leader in the luxury sedan segment in India,” BMW India President Andreas Schaaf said.
The German car making company said that the new 520d would deliver a fuel economy of 18.4 km per litre as tested by the Automotive Research Association of India.
The new BMW 5 Series would be available in a range of 10 colours including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Havanna, Milano Beige, Space Grey, Titanium Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect, the statement added.
The new BMW 520d features a single MP3 CD audio unit with USB and aux-in as well as Bluetooth interface as standard. It also features a sunroof/ moon roof.
