Mercedes-Benz India has announced a record 80 percent growth in sales in 2010. The best ever sales for the company came in the month of December 2010. A company official told that the German luxury car manufacturer sold 5,819 cars last year, an 80 percent increase compared to the 3,250 units sold in 2009.
The key sales volume came from cars like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2490 units), C-Class (2070 units) and the SUV range of M-Class, GL-Class and R-Class.
December 2010 was the best sales month for the company, with a record 710 units sold, which included E-Class (371 units), C-Class (141 units) and the SUV segment (127 units), marking a 115 percent increase over the corresponding period in 2009 when 334 vehicles were sold.
The Mercedes Benz official revealed that the company’s strategy focused on offering a comprehensive product portfolio, besides aggressive product launches and enhanced network in smaller towns and cities.
