After the launch of compact car Polo and entry level sedan Vento, Volkswagen has started to enjoy much popularity in the Indian automobile industry. And these two cars from the German auto manufacturing giant have reigned with 12 awards including the most coveted title of Car of the Year on 3 occasions.
While the Volkswagen Polo has won the Car of the Year at NDTV and Business Standard Motoring Awards, the Volkswagen Vento has won the Car of the Year at Car India Awards.
Commenting on this huge recognition Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “We are truly delighted with this recognition by the jury members of these prestigious media houses. The Polo and the Vento are our brand pillars in India and we are truly overwhelmed by the response received towards both these cars. The awards are pure testimony of this.”
Volkswagen India has sold 27,946 units of the Polo and the Vento until December 2010. Volkswagen currently offers the Jetta and Passat, assembled in Aurangabad for the Indian consumers. Also available on sale now is the iconic New Beetle, the powerful SUV Touareg, the luxurious Phaeton, the New Polo and the Vento.
