Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in January 2010 were 75,423 vehicles, a growth of 15 per cent over 65,478 vehicles sold in January 2009. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2010 were 70,475 units, a 13 per cent growth over 62,202 nos. sold in January last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 642,416 units, a growth of 29 per cent over 498,109 units sold last year. The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 32,386 units (30,212 Tata and 2174 Fiat) in the domestic market in January 2010, higher by 14 per cent compared to 28,460 units (26,245 Tata and 2,215 Fiat) in January last year.
Sales of Tata passenger vehicles are 30,212 units, higher by 15 per cent over January 2009. Sales of the Tata Nano were 6,703 units, higher by 68 per cent over January last year. The Indica range sales were 10,591 units, lower by 8 per cent over January last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 8,456 units, a growth of 17 per cent over January last year. The MUV/ SUV range accounted for sales of 4,462 units, higher by 26 per cent over January last year.
The sales of the Tata Motors’ newest acquisition Jaguar Land Rover brands continued their upward trend.
The company’s sales from exports at 4,948 vehicles in January 2010 registered a growth of 51 per cent compared to 3,276 vehicles in January last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 47,608 units are higher by 78 per cent over 26,800 units in the same period last year.
