Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) on Monday said it has registered 58.50 per cent jump in sales at 1,593 units in July this year on the back of its compact car Micra.
In the same month previous year, the company sold 1,005 units, NMIPL said in a statement.
“The Micra compact hatchback, the first model to be produced at Nissan’s Chennai plant, is driving this sales boost and accounted 1,550 units in July 2011 as against 928 units in July 2010,” the statement said.
Since it went on sale last July, Nissan has sold over 18,000 Micras in India and continues to export it to the world markets, it added.
Remaining sales were contributed by Nissan Teana and Nissan X-trail.
