German luxury carmaker Audi would showcase three new cars and a whole range of technology concepts at the upcoming Auto Expo in January next year to leapfrog into the coveted second position in the Indian luxe car market, a top executive said.
Audi India, which clocked 85 percent growth in the first 10 months, much ahead of its global arch rivals, BMW and Mercedes-Benz with 4,692 cars sold in the local market would unveil all new futuristic e-tron series of its A3 sedan and the sporty S6 limousine, besides some new derivates of its hugely successful Q-series of SUV’s .
Audi Indian head Michael Perschke said that Audi plans to bring in fully-charged bandwagon for the Indian market, which along with China is a top-10 strategic market for India. “India stands next to important Audi markets such as China and USA, and is poised to become a bigger volume generator.
Keeping in mind the bigger potential, we will also showcase some new vehicles and technology new options for our customer as we plan to maintain our lead in sales growth next year too.” To begin with its fastest growth in the luxury car space in India, Audi would also showcase three new engineering concepts at the Auto Expo next year.
Its ‘Ultra’ range will have the light weight set of technologies including the revolutionary carbon fibre and aluminium metal used in cutting down the weight of the newage modern cars, while the ‘Connect’ will throw light on the in-car and inter-car options available for the customers.
