Hyundai Motors India (HMI) is planning to renovate its flagship car, Santro, by adding three bio-fuel variants. No time for this design change has yet been fixed.

Hyundai’s focus this year will mainly be on alternate fuels and all Hyundai vehicles in the small car segment and the compact sedan segment will be made available in various green fuels, like CNG and LPG, by October of 2008.

The CE0 of Hyundai Motors India, H S Lheem, was quoted by a leading business daily saying “We are evaluating the comprehensive changes in Santro, both exterior and interior. Every four-years of the product cycle, some changes are carried out on a model and the current Santro will take new styling cues and some interior modifications. It is our highest selling model (around 70% of the total sales of 1,48,193 units till April-December 2007) and we have no plans to phase it out at present.” Hyundai aims to sell 5.30 Lakh units of Santro cars in 2008.
