The discount season is not yet over for cars. Hyundai has announced a special discount scheme of up to Rs 14,000 on the Santro Xing with the automatic transmission. The discount scheme has been offered on occasion of Womens’ Day on March 8. The scheme will commence with the Womens’ Week beginning from March 1.
There is more. Hyundai is offering finances with a 0.75 percent discount on interest rate and a 50 percent reduction in loan processing fee. The company has plans to attract women customers through the reduced finance schemes in collaboration with Axis Bank.
This is the first-of-its-kind gesture to women in India made by any car manufacturer who have traditionally concentrated on men as buyers.
Hyundai had offered similar car discounts that ranged from Rs 25,000-30000 on the Santro in December 2007, as a year end offer. There was an offer for exchange bonus and corporate discounts, which added up to Rs 50,000. It had also announced discounts on various other models like the Getz, Accent, and others. The discounts ranged from Rs 37,100 to 55,953 on various models. Free insurance, accessories, extended warranty, and exchange offers were part of that year-end discount frenzy.
