Force India has unveiled the much awaited Formula One (F1) car and team’s colours for the forthcoming 2008 Formula One World Championship scheduled to be held in Melbourne on March 16.
The three drivers of the team were dressed in the team’s colours made of White, Tungsten Gold, and Red. They were centre of attraction during the ceremony at the Historic Gateway of India in South Mumbai.
Liquor Baron and the owner of Force India, Vijay Mallya, termed this event as one of the most memorable events in his life and also called it a red letter day in the history of Indian Motorsport.The Formula One car manufactured by Force India is known as “VJM01”. This racing car is all set to go for the first ride during the next team test session to be held in Barcelona from February 25 to 27.
Sharing his views on the occasion, Mr. Mallya said Force India was able to develop this car on time with technical support given by aviation majors EADS and Airbus Industries.
He said he was confident that the Force India Formula One team will definitely create a new record in world motorsport and make steady progress moving forward.
Mallya also complimented everyone involved in the development of this car and commended the efforts of the team's drivers Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil, and the test driver Vitantonio Liuzzi for their contribution in the development of this car.
