At a glittering function, Ford unveiled the new turbo diesel version of Endeavour called Thunder. It is termed as the most powerful SUV in India. The car was launched by Bollywood’s sizzling couple Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan.

Introducing the car in New Delhi, President of Ford India Arvind Matthew said “the new Endeavour has been designed keeping Indian conditions in mind. Thunder also is equipped with unmatched features in its class.”

This new SUV comes with a 3.0-litre engine that churns out a power of 154 bhp, and it has the best-in-its-class torque of 380 Nm at 2500 rpm. The starting price of the car is estimated to be Rs 17 Lakh - two lakhs more than the now available Endeavour.

Scott McCormack, Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Ford India said “The new Thunder is a car with great drivability on both on and off the road. It is certainly an asset to own and can become a status symbol to flash off. Whether riding in city traffic, speeding on a highway or going for holidays on rough terrain, it will surely attract attention.”  The New SUV will take on the hugely popular Honda CR-V and the newly launched Chevrolet Captiva.

The new Endeavour Thunder Plus will be available in Panther Black, Brush Steel, Diamond White, Jeans Blue, and Mystic Wine color options. Ford Motors has four of its models already marketed in India - Ikon, Fiesta, Fusion, and Endeavour. The company has plans to invest 500 million dollars on three of its projects in India, apart from expansion of its plant capacity. It also has plans to come up with a “small car” in the next two years.
