Japanese car manufacturer Honda’s Indian subsidiary, Honda Siel Cars India has launched the 8th generation Accord. It has been one of the much awaited cars in India this year.
Accord makes a comeback to Indian market with the launch of 8th generation Accord. The price of the new Accord will start from Rs 16.46 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) and go up to Rs 18 lakh. It is longer than its predecessor by 80 mm and wider by 25 mm space. This translates into more space shoulder room and legroom for rear passengers. The company has worked hard on the chassis. The variable gear ration makes it faster and more responsive despite of its big size.
The new Accord will be available in three variants – Accord 2.4, Accord 2.4 Elegance and Accord 2.4Inspire. The Accord will be powered by the advanced 2.4L i-VTEC engine that churns out 180 PS power. Buyers will have two options – the 5-speed automatic and the 5-speed manual gearbox with unique paddle shift.
The fuel intake is reduced by 8 percent, thus making it more fuel efficient. The car meets Euro IV emission norms. The new Accord comes with a fuel combination of 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent petrol. This will also reduce dependency on petrol considerably.
In the interiors, the front seats have been given 8-way power adjustments with lumbar support, a tilt and a telescopic steering wheel. The music system has been re-worked and the new accord gets an advanced audio system with a central Multi Selector USB port.
As safety features, it has six air bags with Advanced Compatibility Engineering body and G-Force Controlled (G-Con) technology. This feature heightens the safety of occupants, in the event of a collision.
