After Nissan announced its plans to introduce eight more products in India over the next five years, the company has entered into an agreement with a global servicing agency for its India operations.
Nissan has entered into agreement with Hover Automotive Indian Private Limited for servicing in the sectors of marketing, sales, after sales service and dealer development in India.
Hover has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing Nissan’s marketing and sales and also to establish 55 dealerships across the country by 2012.
Hover is a subsidiary of The Westmont Group, a global consortium with diverse interest such as hotels, real estate, customer service, brand management and marketing.
Nissan Motors Executive vice president Carlos Taveras said “Hover will offer all the necessary services like sales, marketing and dealer development expertise so as to make Indian venture a success.”
Currently, Nissan is offering two products the X-trail and Teana in the price range of Rs 40 lakh. It has also announced its intention to launch luxury SUV Murano in the same price bracket. Apart from this, it also plans to bring in an ultra-low-cost small car jointly with Bajaj-Renault, its process has already begun.
So far, Nissan has concentrated on the niche market, but also has plans for bringing in products for the large lower segments as well.
