German luxury car manufacturer Audi AG will introduce a new sedan in July this year. The company hopes that the new Audi A4 sedan will post the successful figures in this fiscal year.

Audi has been growing steadily since it launched its product in India. Currently, the company is offering five products A4, A6, A8, Q7 and Audi TT. From the list of five, the best selling cars were A6 and SUV Q7 in the 2008. It has recorded sales of 321 units, up from 144 units sold last year.

According to a statement issued by the company, a target of 1000 units has been set for 2008. The Audi India, Managing Director, Benoit Tiers said, “We will continue to concentrate on customer oriented products for the Indian market.”

The company is retailing its products through seven dealerships in India. A growth of 12.3 percent in sales was witnessed in this year since January. However, China’s performance is ahead of India with 22.7 percent. Audi’s worldwide sales clocked a 1.7 percent growth.

Since India and China are considered high growth areas, the company is likely to concentrate on them for its sales performance. Audi is a subsidiary of German car manufacturer Volkswagen, which is also expanding its presence in India.
