Dual Fuel Engine for Indica Xeta

The Indica V2 Xeta is now available in a new variant – a dual fuel engine. The Indica V2 Xeta will source power form petrol and LPG fitted kit. The price for the new Indica variant will start from Rs 3.27 lakh onwards.

The new Indica V2 Xeta is fitted with the 1.2 liter MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) and two ECUs (Electronic Control Unit). While the petrol engine will puff 65.3 PS@ 5000 rpm power, the LPG variant will churn out 62 PS power. The power train will generate a peak torque of 102 Nm @ 2600 rpm. The engine meets the Bharat Stage III emission norms and can be upgraded to higher Euro IV norms.

The engine experiences a smooth transition between the petrol and LPF fuel modes, even when the car is on the move. The new Indica gets an edge over other small cars on the aspects of safety, performance and emission due to the newly installed electronically controlled MPFI.

According to a statement issued by the company, “The dual fuel engine will help reduce emission by 10 percent. Since it will be fuelled by two sources, the fuel efficiency will increase considerably.”

The company will offer two variants for the duel fuel engine powered – the Indica-GLE, fitted with an air-conditioner, will be priced from Rs 3.27 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) and the LPG-GLS variant,  will have convenience factors like air conditioner, power steering, body coloured bumpers. This car costs will start from Rs 3.42 lakh (Ex-showroom). The company is also offering five colour options at selected showrooms across the country.
