Maruti Suzuki has announced the hike in prices of all its cars. Earlier this month, the company had indicated that a price hike is imminent, due to the rising inputs cost such as steel, aluminum, rubber, and plastics.
The fast selling Swift Dzire prices was hiked by Rs 18,000. The car was initially launched in the price range of Rs 4.68 lakh to Rs 6.25 lakh. The prices now stand hiked by the new price list.
The premium hatch Swift prices have also undergone a change. The diesel version of the car is costlier by Rs 15,000 and the petrol version has been hiked by Rs 9,000. The prices of sedan SX4 and Gypsy too have gone up by Rs 9000 and the prices of MUV Versa have been increased by Rs 8000.
The flagship of Maruti Suzuki in the small cars segment - Alto and M800 will also cost more by Rs 1,500. The other small cars Zen Estilo and Wagon R LPG have been increased by Rs 1000. The models Wagon R petrol and all Omni variants is hiked by Rs 2000.
However, Maruti has left the SUV Grand Vitara untouched by the new price hike. It continues to be sold at the same price.
The company has gone for a price hike this January. Though, in the month of March and April the price of cars had gone down briefly after the finance minister announced to reduce excise duties for small cars by 4 percent. This is the second time that Maruti Suzuki has hiked the prices in this year.
