India’s second largest passenger car manufacturer, the Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has proved its unmatched service again by getting the number one position in the compact car segment for its Hyundai Santro model in India Vehicle Dependability Study. The position was awarded by JD Power Asia Pacific 2008.
The India Vehicle Dependability Study is based on the number of problems reported by the customers per 100 vehicles. This evaluation was performed on 4700 car owners who purchased these vehicles between July 2004 and September 2005.
The analysis was conducted on eight car segments like compact, premium compact, entry midsize, midsize, premium midsize, entry luxury, multi-utility/multi-purpose vehicles and sport-utility vehicles. The survey also includes 33 vehicle models covering 12 nameplates that were present from January to April 2008 from 20 cities across India. The cars were segregated according to their performance, look, technical specifications, fuel efficiency, emission and safety features.
Santro has been one of the largest selling cars in its segment since it was launched in 1998. The car has also a good sales record in the global market.
