India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has launched the Maruti 800 Duo, the LPG variant of M800 on June 6.
The new variant will come fitted with dual fuel injections – petrol and LPG and is likely to be priced between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The LPG car will come in two variants – standard LPG and AC model.
At a press conference, the executive officer, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The LPG kit is factory fitted and is completely safe. The car comes at an economical price.”
There are other duel fuel cars from MSIL (Maruti Suzuki India) stable – the LPG Omni and Wagon R. The LPG and CNG models of these cars have been a huge success with customers. The company has sold 1.25 lakh cars in the last fiscal year. The customer is satisfied that the cars get low running costs and have low maintenance costs. It also has low emission levels and is eco-friendly.
The Maruti 800 LPG variant is fuelled by a gas mixture system based on integrated gas technology. The CO2 emission from LPG variant is 10 percent lower than petrol variant of Maruti 800. The car has been designed by a team of 24 in house engineers. It is currently manufactured at the Gurgaon facility and is available in five colours.
