Renowned car manufacturers Renault-Nissan along with their Indian partner Bajaj Auto is planning to venture into production of big cars and MUVs.
The company wants to explore the Indian car market. This is not feasible with only one product and therefore the idea of expanding their product portfolio came into effect. It will not be just the variants of the same product but different products as well. The initial agreement on the project will be signed by July.
The Renault-Nissan joint venture with Bajaj Auto was formed in May, 2008, to introduce ultra-cheap cars in India that will be competing with the Nano. Their small car is expected to hit the Indian roads by 2011 with the capacity of 400,000 units a year. Sales will start in early 2011 in India and in other emerging markets around the world.
