More Companies Interested In Motorsports

As the car revolution is taking place in India, so is the interest in motorsports. The new interest in racing cars has to be attributed to liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who created the Force India team for the F1 races.


Team Sidvin India, owned by Bangalore based company Sidvin Core-Tech is also participating in World Rally Championship (WRC) to promote its brand.


The ‘Team Sidvin India’ (TSI) made its debut at the Acropolis Rally, Greece. It rallied with a Subaru Impreza WRX and is likely to participate in all the six rally of WRC.


The Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Sidvin Mr. Mohan Nagarajan said, “Great brands have been built on racing in the west and we think that TSI (Team Sidvin India) will help us to stand apart in area of promotion and marketing.”


The company has entered into an agreement with Tommi Makinen Racing, owned by WRC Champion Tommi Makinen. The agreement pertains to technical and vehicle support for WRC. The contract is valid till 2009 racing season. The company has invested up to Rs 4 million in TSI till date.


The Team Sidvin India has appointed VK Naren Kumar as its driver to cruise at the WRC. Naren Kumar finished 10th at the Acropolis Rally. He will also endorse TSI brand and their merchandise.
