The auto manufacturers are offering huge discounts and promotional schemes to lure customers amidst inflation. From past few months, the car industry is going down due to the high interest rates and increased fuel price. The reason of giving such attractive offers is to strike off the negative sentiment of the car buyers.
General Motors has proclaimed an exceptional discount price of Rs 26000 on its entry-level compact, the Spark. The company initially sold the car for Rs 3.33 lakh and gave a special offer at Rs 2.92 lakh, but now it has further cut down the cost to Rs 2.66 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is planning to review the offer after July 31.
Mr. Ankush Arora, Marketing Vice President of the company said, “The special price is the result of enhanced localization on the Spark coming out of operational efficiencies due to increase in production volume. However, he admitted that the car industry is going through a low phase due to compounding of the negative factors. Interestingly, the discount comes on top of the special three-year free service package offer on Spark.”
Other companies like Maruti Suzuki is also offering a cash discount scheme of Rs 21,000 for the models WagonR and Zen Estilo, the Maruti 800 and Versa have discount of Rs 5,000 each and the Alto of Rs 10,000. Hyundai has recently announced the offer of free fuel voucher worth Rs 2,700 with every Santro and i10 model. The company is also providing 'reduced EMI' scheme to the customers. And even Tata Motors is offering discount on its cars.
