NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul's Caparo group is looking forward to supply design- intensive engineering parts to the UK brands, Land Rover and Jaguar acquired by the Tata Motors earlier this year.
Angad Paul, the CEO of Caparo group, said, “Caparo has a marvelous opportunity to build on its good relations in India with Tata Motors.” Paul’s company has already made a business deal to supply components for the Tata Motor’s ultra-cheap car, the Nano.
According to the company’s annual report, released for its shareholders, the acquisition of British auto brands Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) would add global scale, profits and visibility to the company, thus enabling it to take its place in the global car industry as a credible international auto company”.
Caparo’s new operations that are there both in UK and India are mainly concentrating on higher-value, designed areas of engineering, particularly in automotive sector. During the past five years Caparo has spent around £200 million in buying more than 20 companies in the UK and setting up 32 new plants in India.
