India’s auto major the Tata Motors sales chart saw a growth of 6.61 per cent. The company sold 47,245 vehicles in June this year compared to 44,317 units in corresponding period last year. Domestic sales for the passenger vehicles saw a dip of 2.30 per cent in June 2007.
The Tata Indica sales were down by 27 per cent, compared to the same month last year. However, the Tata Indigo family recorded strong sales of 102 per cent growth over 11 per cent by selling 4,747 units in June last year. The Tata Sumo and Tata Safari also reported sales of 3,710 units, a growth of 11 per cent contrast to same month last year.
Cumulative domestic sales of passenger vehicles for the fiscal were 51,094 units, a marginal decline of 1 per cent over the same period last year whereas the gross sales of the commercial vehicle in the national market reported 71,480 units which is 16 percent high over last year.
