Hyundai Sources Small Cars from India

Hyundai Motors, the leading auto major, is planning to source small cars from India for the US car market to meet the current demand for small cars.


The small car is believed to fall between the Smart ForTwo and the Honda Fit in terms of car size. According to sources, the car will be the Hyundai i10 that is 140 inches long, 21 inches shorter than Honda Fit and 34 inches longer than the Smart car.


Hyundai i10, a car that has performed excellence in the Indian car market, is a four door hatchback loaded with a peppy engine and excellent high quality features. The car delivers a good fuel economy and is successfully running in 70 countries.


Driven by the success of i10 in several countries, Hyundai is now planning to drive the car to US, where the car is expected to be market as Hyundai or Kia or both.


In United States, the Smart car is showing a good sale and the company expects the same response for proposed the i10. The Hyundai i10 will be modified with certain features including transmission, fog lamps, dual airbags, keyless entry and various other upscale features to suit the specific US conditions.


The Indian price range of the car is about Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh and is expected to vary after venturing into the US car market.
