Due to ever increasing fuel prices and inflation, car companies are experiencing a tough time this year. There was a tremendous slow down in car sales. The passenger car sales have been declined to 87,724 cars this July in contrast to 89,250 cars in the same month last year.
Now the car manufactures are eyeing on the festive season to bring some fortune for them. There is an array of launches by various car manufacturers for this Diwali season. The festive launch is kicked off by Tata Motors’ next-generation Indica.
Recently, Tata Motors has launched its second generation Indica Vista and the ultra-cheap 1 lakh car Nano is on the way to hit the Indian roads in October. Tata Motors is also preparing itself to widen the market for the Land Rover and Jaguar models in India.
Also in the line up for this year is the Toyota’s Corolla Altis, 3rd generation Honda City, Maruti’s A-Star, Fiat Linea, BMW 7 series and Hyundai i20. The Lancer Gallant and compact SUV Outlander from Mitsubishi’s stable, Mahindra & Mahindra’s all new Ingenio MUV are among the expected cars to be launch in the month of October.
Therefore, with so many launches, the car industry is expecting a lift of the current sluggish Indian car market.
