Honda City, the most popular mid-size sedan, which has made wonders over the years in the Indian car market, is ready to launch in a new avatar by mid-September. The third generation Honda city will be available in 3 to 4 variants carrying different price tags and specifications and will be costlier than the current version.
The next generation Honda city will be equipped with a host of flashy features like paddle shift gear option (where you don’t need to use the clutch pedal) on steering, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), multi-airbags, integrated music system with steering mounted controls, temperature control and electronically adjustable front seats.
Masahiro Takedagawa, Honda Siel Cars India President and CEO said at the launch of 8th generation Accord in May this year, “We are looking at standardizing the G-CON body, ABS, I-Vtec engines and few other technical features in all our future cars. It is a part of our commitment to provide world-class products to the Indian market.”
The new City will stand against the yet to be launched Fiat Linea, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota’s new Corolla. Nevertheless, the Honda City has made a remarkable place in the market and it might be tough for the other cars to take the competition with it.
