Tata Motors has launched the second generation of India’s first and fully indigenous car, the Indica Vista. This exclusive car is bigger in size than its predecessor and displays a completely new look.

The car gets a 2470 mm wheelbase, which is comparable to the Fiesta, Verna and other larger C-segment cars. It has 13 inch or 14 inch diameter wheels. Other special features of the car includes head rest for the rear passengers, integrated CD player, split folding rear seats and fabric lining on seats and doors. Priced between Rs. 3.49 lakh to Rs. 4.88 lakh, the car is available in 7 variants – Terra, Aqua and Aura being the three initial versions. The new car will stand against Maruti Suzuki’s Swift and Skoda’s Fabia.

According to Mr. Rajiv Dubey, president of Passenger Cars Division, Tata Motors, “There is virtually no carryover of the existing Indica into the Indica Vista, except the good attributes. The project cost is around Rs. 1,700 crore in the various facilities at Tata Motors and Ranjangaon. The investment includes the amount for the new Indigo also. We have taken 3.5-4 years to develop this vehicle and will commence exports only after six months.”

With a desire to give a posh feel to the car, Tata has intelligently equipped it with all expected comfort and style. Hope it also create a benchmark in the Indian car market like other Tata’s models.
