Fiat to introduce ultra-cheap car to India

Renowned car makers Fiat is planning to roll out ultra-cheap cars to India by 2010. The technical details and the price of the car were not revealed. The company is talks with various Chinese companies for possible tie-ups and partnerships along with those in India.

Fiat aims to deepen its grip in the Asian markets and boost its market share. According to reliable sources, the company holding talks was in talks with Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group in China and already has tie-up with Chery Automobiles.

Fiat is also looking at the probable venture with Tata Motors to provide engines to the recently acquired premium brands Land Rover and Jaguar that are on the way to foray the Indian auto market.

Fait made sensational news with the launch of its expensive model Fiat 500 from the small car segment. List of other models from the Fiat India Stable waiting to be launched in India are Fiat Linea, Grande Punto, Bravo, Alfa-Romeo.
