There is a speculation in the Indian auto industry that General Motors has launched its Multi-Utility vehicle, Chevrolet Tavera Neo-2 that carries a price tag of Rs 9.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). But it is just a rumour as this new model from GM’s stable is expected to be launched very soon.
The car manufacturer is selling around 1,700-1,800 units of Tavera in India every month. The company aims to sell around 2000 units of Tavera Neo-2 per month. The new Tavera Neo would be enhanced with more attractive features and technology.
According to General Motors, India President and Managing Director Karl Slym, “As a result of the feedbacks received, Chevrolet Tavera once again raises the bar in terms of features and personal amenities for its class.”
GM India is a fully owned subsidiary of the General Motors Corporation. The company has made huge investments in India and is working hard to strengthen its position and become one of the top players in the country. The car manufacturer has also announced to set up a power train facility that includes components like engine, transmission and drive shaft, at Talegaon in Maharashtra.
The company is also working on a small-car project that will be rolled out in 2009 and will be exported to overseas markets.
