Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai Motors, world’s largest passenger car manufacturer is working hard to maintain its place in the car industry. The company has proclaimed that its new challenger in the hatchback segment will be the most awaiting i20. This car will make its world debut at the Paris Auto Show on October 2nd this year.
Now even Maruti-Suzuki is ready to launch its new A-Star, which might be a challenger for the Hyundai i20. The i20 will be the second of Hyundai’s ‘i’ series cars, after the most well accepted stylish and cool i10 model. The i20 will be a larger hatchback and will be built at Hyundai’s modern facility in Chennai, which will be for both local and overseas market.
The i20 is built on a complete new platform, where the wheelbase will be longer than the present Getz super mini. The car will be taking the Maruti-Suzuki Swift head-on, and will be equipped with a petrol engine.
The car will be motorized by 1.4-litre CRDi engine churning out 90bhp of power. The i20 comes with 6-speed manual gearbox and will be one of the most eco-friendly cars worldwide.
The i20 features will have stacked tail lamps at the rear to give a distinctive look. The interior will also be spacious. So with the grand success of i10 will i20 also prove to take its place when launched in the Indian market is the big question?
