Toyota Motor Corporation has finally launched the 10th generation Corolla- Altis in India. This exclusive car is available in three variants will carry a price tag between Rs. 10.83 lakh and Rs. 12.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Toyota Corolla Altis is propelled by 1.8-litre petrol engine churning out 132 bhp. Altis G and GL variant will have manual transmissions where as Altis VL comes with automatic transmission.
For the first time in its top-end segment, Toyota has offered some special features like, HID lamps, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, headlamp washers and even cruise control to this new generation Corolla. However, the company has worked proficiently on the Altis engine to improve the fuel efficiency and provide hassle-free fuel-efficient cars to the consumers.
According to Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Vice-Chairman Vikram Kirloskar, “This year's target is to sell 63,000 vehicles, and by fiscal 2015 we are aiming for a market share of about 10%. The Altis marks our big step toward the achievement of this goal.”
He also added that the Toyota small car is expected to start its production and sales around 2010 or early 2011 in India.
The car manufacturer targets to sell an average of 2,000 Corolla Altis a month.
